Three former Yarra Junior Football League players are set to make their AFL debut in Round One of the 2023 Toyota AFL Premiership Season.
Melbourne’s 2020 pick 22, Bailey Laurie (Beverley Hills), will make his long-awaited debut in their Saturday night clash with the Western Bulldogs, as will Essendon’s Alwyn Davey Jnr. (Ashburton) and St Kilda’s Anthony Caminiti (Heidelberg) from the 2022 draft, when their sides take on Hawthorn and Fremantle, respectively.
All three players have had impressive pre-season campaigns, and their performances have rightfully earned them a spot in their respective teams' starting lineups.
The Yarra Junior Football League is extremely proud of what these players have achieved in reaching the highest level. It's a testament to the hard work and dedication the players, their coaches and club administrators who have created an environment that allows young players to thrive.
As the season progresses, we will continue to watch closely to see how these three players continue to develop and contribute to their teams.
Good luck — Bailey, Alwyn and Anthony — in your debuts!
